JAMES (“JIMMY”) E. MALONE JR., Delegate, District 12A is serving his 14th year in the Maryland House of Delegates. Delegate Malone recently retired as a distinguished Lieutenant of the Baltimore County Fire Department after 28 and half years. Jimmy graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1975 and presently is the Director of Development at Cardinal Gibbons School. He received his A.A. from Catonsville Community College in 1986.
Currently, Delegate Malone is the Vice Chair of the Environment Matters Committee and the Chairman of the Motor Vehicles & Transportation subcommittee. Also, he is a member of the Agriculture Preservation and Open Space subcommittee, Natural Resources subcommittee and the Joint Committee on Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC). He has been a member and currently is the Co-Chair of the Maryland Fire, Rescue and EMS Caucus. Recently, Delegate Malone was appointed to the Environmental Matters Water Resources Workgroup.
In 2007, Delegate Malone was awarded the Maryland State Firemen’s Association 2007 Senator William H. Amoss Legislator of the Year Award and the 2007 Legislator of the Year by the Professional Firefighters of Maryland. Jimmy also recently received the Service Station and Automotive Repair Association 2008 Charles L. Binsted Industry Achievement Award.
Jimmy is active in several community organizations including serving as the Chairman of the Board of the Western Young Man’s Christian Association (YMCA) and being on the Government relations committee of the YMCA. He is also a member of the Community College of Baltimore County-Catonsville Foundation, the Board of Directors of The Leadership through Athletics Inc., Board of Directors for Lighthouse Inc., and Board of Directors for Our Lady of Victory School.
Jimmy was born on July 8th 1957 in Baltimore Maryland and currently resides in his Hometown of Arbutus Maryland. He is the father of two children, Danica, 14 and Jimmy, 11.
